There can be no lonelier place than a marriage.  There can also be no greater joy than the loving union of two souls.  All have an agenda when entering a relationship, and expect that it will produce happiness, pleasure, and affirmation.  Unfortunately, relying on others for a sense of well-being and significance always results in anger and jealousy.  Marriage has the potential to refine or destroy us.  A relationship that has not experienced pain has no depth.
